Gustavo Aimar is a graphic designer and illustrator from Argentina. He is a great example of what pure artful inspiration is. He never plans out what he is going to be doing. He sits down and lets his art flow, using old pages from books or newspapers, found materials, and pretty much anything he has at hand, to create amazing and jovial characters over texturized backgrounds. He works on any medium, what´s most important to him is to let his creativity come naturally without too much consideration of style or technique. He does not limit himself by preconceived notions or rules, but instead lets his work speak for itself, concentrating on forms of language and exploring new materials to create paintings, drawings, sculptures or objects. The key, he says, is to “work, work, work”, bringing to mind Picasso´s old adage: “Inspiration exists, but it has to find us working.” And indeed, Gustavo Aimar constantly finds his inspiration, which is evident in his beautiful and creative pieces below:
