Kanchan Mohan is an unusual artist. The peculiarity of this young woman from America is exhibited through her collages which are the art form she has chosen to express her vision. When we came across her work, to say that we were impressed would be an understatement. More so, since these collages, which are a versatile mix of a kaleidoscope of emotions, are the creations of a self taught artist who insists that she has never had any formal training.

Inspired by the majestic beauty of the feminine form and rife with mythological and historical contexts, these whimsical pieces of art each tell a story. It is a testament to the emotional and imaginative depth of the artist that each of her collages is as unique as it is interesting. The brilliant use of fabric along with patterns and paints creates an exquisite combination which is at once enticing and intriguing.
