Enigmatic Art – Drawings by Lucian Stanculescu

 

 

Enigmatic – that is perhaps the most apt word to describe Lucian Stanculescu’s art. It is amazing how he manages to capture the imagination of the viewer with his seemingly simple drawings. Closely resembling the forms of sculptures, his drawings depict surreal scenarios and subjects.

His style is reminiscent of Da Vinci’s drawings. He draws with a vision that hints at the presence of deep mysteries, the answers to which are only privy to him.

He creates drawings that hold a deep meaning which is instilled in them in a cryptic manner. It is as if he embeds each of his works with a secret that is left for the viewer to decipher. He imbues his drawings with a voice that speaks for itself. But it only speaks in riddles!
