Welcome to the sunshine – Drawings by Laura Tuininga

 

Quaint is the word that comes to mind once you look at the drawings of Laura Tuininga. Made using soft pastel colors, her drawings immerse you in them. You can almost feel the wind that is making the grass move or the soft babbling of the brook in the forest. It is this quality that makes these drawings stand out. From landscapes, waterscapes and still art each drawing of Miss Laura beckons with a soft touch and invites you to witness the world it depicts. It is a world that is full of colors in motion.  Whether it is the lightening in the storm, the setting sun, rising waves, flowing water or the blowing wind, it is amazing how this artist captures the motion in her drawings. It involves the onlooker in a way that even photographs cannot do. The ability to transport the audience into the landscape of the drawing is perhaps the most awe inspiring facet of these paintings.
